American musician, songwriter, record producer, and film producer Adam Duritz. He is most known for being the band’s frontman and founding member, Counting Crows, a well-known rock group.
The band has published four albums, each of which has received a gold or platinum certification since its beginning in 1991. The band has also received numerous nominations and honors, including two Grammy Award nominations and an Academy Award nomination. Duritz continues to work with musicians and ensembles including Nanci Griffith and The Wallflowers while also releasing his own solo music. He was raised in several cities, including Boston, El Paso, and Berkeley, while being a Baltimore native. He completed his education at the esteemed Taft School before moving on to Head-Royce School in Oakland.
